2025 Trailblazer Summit

Celebrating Tourism & Hospitality in Gilmer County
On May 6, tourism and hospitality professionals from across Gilmer County came together at the for the first-ever Trailblazer Summit, hosted by Pick Ellijay.
The summit kicked off with a catered lunch by The Chili Dog and a keynote address from Amanda Dyson-Thornton, Executive Director of the Georgia Association of Convention & Visitors Bureaus (GACVB). Amanda shared insights from her experience in destination marketing and emphasized the importance of working together to support our tourism economy.
Attendees had the chance to learn more about upcoming Pick Ellijay campaigns and how to get involved. From seasonal promotions to new digital content initiatives, the summit provided a first look at both new and returning opportunities for local businesses and partners to participate in marketing efforts that highlight all the things that make Gilmer County a great place to visit.
One of the highlights of the day was the presentation of the 2025 Trailblazer Summit Awards. These awards recognized individuals and organizations who are helping make Gilmer County a destination of choice for visitors throughout the year. Honorees were recognized in categories including Frontline Service, Creative Expression, Rising Star, and Spirit of the Community.
