Stand in awe of a towering 25-foot-high Gingerbread House, generously provided by Viking Outdoor. This delectable masterpiece sets the festive tone, creating a picturesque backdrop for the evening’s festivities.
Christmas Tree Lighting
Witness the sparkle of the season as Santa himself lights the Ellijay Christmas tree, and don’t miss the appearance of Ginger, the gingerbread woman. Don’t forget to bring your furry family members for pictures with Santa and complimentary treats courtesy of Mountain Hounds. A minimum $10 donation per Santa picture is requested.
Face Painting
Embrace the festive season with the joy of face painting by Wolfie Body Art and immerse yourself in the holiday spirit.
Friends of Gilmer Animal Shelter
Beyond the festivities, Light Up Ellijay carries a deeper purpose. All proceeds will go towards the pet-related projects of Friends of Gilmer Animal Shelter.

Arts & Crafts Fair
Kick off the day’s festivities at noon on Broad St., where local arts & crafts vendors will showcase an array of one-of-a-kind gifts and set the stage for a day of celebration.

Christmas Parade
Marvel at the creativity of the floats as the fun continues with a dazzling parade that winds its way from McCutchen St and ends at Ellijay Elementary School.
Santa on the Square
Capture the joy of the season with multiple photo opportunities alongside Santa, available for meet-and-greets both before and after the parade. Don’t forget to bring your Christmas list for a special moment with Santa during these festive encounters!
After Party
Warm up with hot chocolate, and enjoy an outdoor movie sponsored by Beau-tiful Creations starting at 6 PM.
