Whether you’re in the mood for mouthwatering ribs, a fine dining experience, or an after-dinner latte or sweet treat, you can find a place to satisfy every appetite while in Gilmer County. In downtown Ellijay, try one of the family owned restaurants or delis, many within walking distance of the town square. For a casual lunch or lighter fare, try Corner Stone Café, Cantaberry Restaurant, or Back Porch Bistro. Seth’s on Boardwalk offers sandwiches, pizza, and wings.

Take a break from shopping to enjoy a quick snack or a cool treat at Abby’s Ice Cream and Frozen Yogurt or MooBears Ice Cream & Hotdogs. For a cup of coffee and free Wi-Fi, wander over to the Ellijay Coffeehouse.

Lee’s on River Street at The 1907 is a local favorite known for its fine dining and New South cuisine. A popular choice with multi-level seating and two bars, reservations are recommended for the upper level on weekends.

East Ellijay offers a variety of great eateries. Colonel Poole’s Georgia Bar-B-Q serves a tempting selection of pork, beef brisket, chicken, and rib plates and sandwiches. Featured in Southern Living magazine, this East Ellijay institution features the “Pig Hill of Fame,” overlooking the restaurant. Thousands of painted plywood pigs are adorned with the hand painted names of Colonel Poole’s happy customers.

Other East Ellijay restaurants include Charlie’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria, El Rey Mexican Restaurant, East Towne Pub, and Okinawa Restaurant, which features sushi and authentic Japanese cuisine.

After a day of hiking, biking, or apple picking, relax over a freshly prepared and delicious dinner.
