East Ellijay offers a variety of great eateries. Colonel Poole’s Georgia Bar-B-Q serves a tempting selection of pork, beef brisket, chicken, and rib plates and sandwiches. Featured in Southern Living magazine, this East Ellijay institution features the “Pig Hill of Fame,” overlooking the restaurant. Thousands of painted plywood pigs are adorned with the hand painted names of Colonel Poole’s happy customers.
