GCGSI Workshop: Researching Your Family Tree for First Families

For those that are interested in applying for First Families of Gilmer County, Georgia, the Gilmer County Genealogical Society, Inc. will be holding a workshop on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon in the Gilmer County Library’s Family Research Room. GCGSI’s Past President John Davis will facilitate “Researching Your Family Tree for First Families” and will explain the process of tracing your lineage back to Gilmer County resident(s) of 1840 or earlier, and the gathering of documentation for the application. If you plan to attend, please email gilmergenealogy@gmail.com with your name and contact information. If possible, bring any of your Gilmer County genealogical research.
