2026 Merry Mountain Town
Join us in Downtown Ellijay on Friday, November 27th, 2026, for the second annual Merry Mountain Town!
Merry Mountain Town is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. The Merry Mountain Town Decorating Contest begins at 10 AM. Pick up a map and event guide at the Downtown Welcome Center, browse the displays at participating locations (and shop for last minute gifts!), and return to vote for your favorite entry! Voters will receive a one-of-a-kind Merry Mountain Town prize (while supplies last!).
The Merry Mountain Town Festival brings arts and crafts vendors to Broad Street, free face painting, and delicious seasonal treats. Plus, stop by for a meet-and-greet with Santa, and photo session for your family and four-legged friends available for a $10 donation (benefitting the Friends of Gilmer Animal Shelter).
Bundle up and find a spot along the streets of Downtown Ellijay to experience the highly anticipated Merry Mountain Town Parade and Tree Lighting! This family-favorite parade features of cheerful floats, plenty of holiday spirit, and leads to the official lighting of the Downtown Ellijay Christmas tree.
