Whitepath Golf Course

Completed in 1987, Whitepath Golf Course is a public course designed by world-renowned architect Rocky Roquemore. It is snuggled in the majestic North Georgia Mountains and offers breathtaking scenery from elevated tees overlooking lush fairways and medium-sized greens. A new clubhouse was completed and opened in late 2010.
Gilmer County Parks & Recreation Department

Gilmer County Parks & Recreation Department offers the youth of Gilmer County year round athletics including cheer, football, basketball, soccer, softball, baseball, tennis, swimming, and wrestling. They also offer a junior life guard camp. Gilmer County Parks and Recreation also maintains the county pool open to the public during the summer months.
River Park along the Coosawattee River, is a linear park with a three-quarter mile walking track, picnic areas, tennis courts, exercise stations, and a small playground. It is also home to Veterans Memorial Bridge & Garden where tribute is paid to our great nation and all veterans. Located one and one-half miles south of the roundabout on Old Hwy 5S.
Harrison Park is a 26 acre passive recreation park under development in downtown Ellijay. Located on McCutchen St., less than one-half mile from the roundabout, Harrison Park currently has walking paths and off-road parking available. More amenities are under construction.
Gilmer County Senior Center
The Senior Center offers a variety of activities such as crafts, music, exercise, games and special field trips. They have educational workshops with guest speakers who share important information for our seniors such as nutritional education, Georgia Legal Services and the Alzheimer’s Association, just to name a few. They also have transportation available to all seniors who may want to attend the center for congregate meals. Their home delivered meals provide assistance for persons 60 and over who are home-bound and cannot come to the Senior Center.

A place of honor and remembrance, the Memorial Bridge and Gardens includes a 147 foot long pedestrian bridge spanning the Coosawattee River along with engraved markers honoring veterans as well as civic leaders. The gardens are also home to large engraved marble slabs including many patriotic and historical documents. Visit the bridge and gardens on Old Hwy 5, 1 ½ miles south of the downtown Ellijay roundabout.
