May Network Luncheon
Park Sterling Bank sponsored this month’s network luncheon. Kent Sanford, Park Sterling Bank’s Market Executive for Gilmer County welcomed the group of around 100 and shared briefly about the bank before introducing Melody Johnson. Melody is a Financial Consultant and is the newest member of the bank’s team. She shared with those in attendance about alternative investments now available that can significantly enhance investor’s returns. Many of these options are insured and come with various maturities and other features to meet the individual’s needs. ACE Hardware is a historic landmark business for Gilmer County and Downtown Ellijay. Even though they still do business the old fashioned way, one year ago this month, they jumped into the new age with a Facebook page. Since then they have added over 1650 followers to their Facebook page. Now they are posting ads, contests, new products and more, using social media to its full power. It’s not always easy for an old school business to jump into the new age, and that is why we are proud to announce this month’s winner is ACE Hardware. Christy Shull, the Facebook manager for ACE Hardward accepted the award. The luncheon was catered by Mr. P’s Takeout/Main Street Catering. We enjoyed a delicious lunch of chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, cole slaw and two desserts apple cake and chocolate eclair cake.
