March 2018 Network Luncheon
The March Network Luncheon was held on March 8, 2018 and was sponsored by Amicalola EMC. Established in 1940, Amicalola EMC is a not-for profit electric cooperative that serves over 48,000 locations in parts of ten north Georgia counties which include: Bartow, Cherokee, Dawson, Fannin, Forsyth, Gilmer, Gordon, Lumpkin, Murray and Pickens counties. Almost 15,000 of those are in Gilmer County. Locally owned and managed, Amicalola EMC provides electricity and related services to its consumer/members. In addition to providing electricity, Amicalola EMC is a strong supporter of local communities and schools. Following the sponsor remarks, a much anticipated speaker, Dr. Roger Tutterow, visited with those in attendance and provided his thoughts and perspective on the national, state and local economic trends. He spoke at length on the economic recovery and how it is being seen throughout the economy through workforce shortages, market trends, interest rates and other indicators. A special thank you to Dr. Tutterow for joining us. Following our speaker, President & CEO of the Gilmer Chamber, Paige Green had to privilege of honoring Ruth Bodine, Member Services Manager for 10 years of hard work and dedication to the Gilmer Chamber and its members. The luncheon was catered by Mr. P’s Takeout/Main Street Catering. We enjoyed a delicious lunch with chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, broccoli and rice casserole, salad and dessert. The next Gilmer Chamber luncheon will be held on April 12, 2018, click here to register.
