Georgia’s DH season begins November 1st, and continues through May 14th.  The DH sections of these waters are marked with signage.  During the DH season, anglers must release all trout immediately, and use and possess only artificial lures with one single hook per lure.

 We got a sneak peak at the Good Samaritan Catholic Church's Flea Market that is happening this Friday, September 14 from 8:30-4:00pm and Saturday, September 15 from 8:30-12pm at the Lions Club Fairgrounds. Debbie Slaughter, in charge of organizing the flea market, showed us around the event as volunteers were working hard to get everything set up. They have a lot of clothing for all ages and sizes!

 In its fifth year, the Georgia Apple Blossom Festival is “all about the local,” according to Karla Haege, event organizer and Tourism Manager for the Gilmer Chamber. This 2018 event, presented by Jasper Coca-Cola Bottling Co. will take place Saturday, May 5 and Sunday, May 6, on Craig Street, which runs parallel to Highway 515 and is in front of the Gilmer Chamber & Welcome Center located at 696 First Ave, East Ellijay.
