They earned a silver for their 2016 Sweet Molly, the floral and fruit forward “Southern Belle version” of their estate grown Traminette.

Their  2016 Traminette, a crisper version of the Sweet Molly, earned a Silver medal, as did Engelheim’s Hummingbird. All of these wines were grown and bottled in North Georgia. engelheim vineyards tasting room

With it being the largest wine competition in the world, they are truly blessed to have earned such high honors for each of their wines.

They are especially excited to have this news to celebrate with  their guests at their Winter Wine Fest Dinner on Saturday, February 3. It’s going to add something real special to be able to introduce and share each of their wines that evening as a medal winner! They are eternally grateful to the Lord, their family, and their dear friends that all helped make Engelheim Vineyards and their award-winning wines a reality.

The San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition received over 7,000 entries from more than 36 states. Recognized as the largest competition of American wines in the world, it narrowed thousands of wines down to an exclusive few. In the second week of January, 67 skilled judges from a variety of fields including trade, education, media, retail and hospitality traveled to the Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds in Sonoma County to determine the best wines in the USA. Three full days of judging were followed by the Sweepstakes judging, which took place on Friday morning. 47 judges participated in this portion, and an astounding 3,478 glasses were used in the final tasting for the best of the best.

Only 7 entries were honored with the prestigious Sweepstake Award in the categories of Label, Sparkling, White, Pink, Red, and Dessert/Specialty wines.
