On May 10, the Gilmer Chamber celebrated Dairy Queen’s new renovation. Dairy Queen has been an institution and landmark in our community since its construction in 1963 as a walk up stand only. In the years since, the location has expanded to include a dining restaurant. For the past 11 years, the Wimpey family have continued the traditions while meeting the needs of a growing community. Recent renovations to become a DQ Grill and Chill Restaurant include new flooring, booths and seating tables, counters, cabinets, interior walls, handicap accessible restrooms, and a complete outside face lift. What hasn’t changed is the hometown feel and great customer service. Congratulations Dairy Queen on your recent renovations.
