Following our sponsor remarks, this month’s Social Star was announced. If you were to ask what kind of businesses should be on social media, this month’s social star would not be the first business to come to mind. But they are, and they manage their Facebook page well. They have also presented a life-saving emergency app free for our community to take advantage of. They are using technology not only to better their business but better the community. Logan Funeral uses Facebook to share obituaries, inspirational messages, and information to help you better plan for the future. The content is relevant and always respectful of their audience. I am proud to see a local business utilize technology to inform and assist Gilmer County. Congratulations to Logan Funeral home on being the October Social Star.
At the luncheon, businesses donated candy for the Chamber’s Candy Drive for the merchants giving away candy at the Downtown Trick Or Treating on Monday, October 31. You can still drop off candy donations at the Gilmer Chamber.
The next luncheon will be held on November 10, 2016 at the Ellijay First United Methodist Church, sponsored by Candra Warren State Farm. Click here to register.
