The 2017 Ellijay Farmers Market will kick off its season April 29, 2017 and is set to continue each Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon through October 7.
“The best thing going about the farmers market is it’s local,” said co-organizer Bonnie Waldron, explaining the majority of the vendors come from within a 25 to 30 mile radius of Ellijay. “(The wares) are locally-grown, locally-made.” She invited the community to come out to support north Georgia’s farmers, gardeners and people who make handicrafts and enjoy the opportunity to buy from neighbors “who truly love their craft.”
Local Master Gardeners sponsor the annual farmers market, which is held on Broad Street adjacent to the courthouse in downtown Ellijay.
