This weekend Ellijay will be full of American pride and excitement! Here is a list of the events happening this weekend!
SATURDAY JULY 2
Cartecay Bike Shop 4th of July Ride and Cookout
Meet at Bull Mountain Parking Area at 9:30am. Ride starts at 10am – guided beginner/intermediate/advanced no drop rides.
Afterwards, hang out with you friends and enjoy the cookout. NGMBA will provide the main course (gluten free and vegetarian options available), please bring a side dish to share, what you want to drink and a chair. After the event, ride your bike in the independence day parade at 6pm.
American Legion – Post 82 – Independence Day Celebration
Doors open at 1 pm, events include live entertainment – Jack, Mack & Dr. Nick and Runaway Train, Duck Race, Basket Raffle and Door Prizes. You can purchase ducks for the duck race $5 each or 3 for $10. Tickets for the event are $10 and includes BBQ plate and one free raffle ticket.
Public Safety Show 2016
Come see inside and around a number of police cars, fire trucks, rescue helicopter and special operations vehicles. There will be bouncy houses and drinks on scene.
4th of July Parade and Fireworks
Come join Ellijay’s community for our Independence Day Parade and Fireworks in historic downtown Ellijay! At 6:00p, watch decorated floats and Ellijay’s “stars” travel down River Street. Afterwards, gather in the City Parking Lot for live music Then, to conclude the festive night, fireworks at dusk.
SUNDAY JULY 3
Winestock Festival at Fainting Goat Vineyards
This psychedelic Wine festival boasts multiple bands, BBQ food, costume contests, lawn games, and local art. Join us for our second annual wine festival celebrating the colorful side of the 70’s. Great people, great wine, great music: a true must-do for summer 2016. Wear your hippie gear, bring a blanket and lounge on the lawn for this summertime festival. Help us bring the 70’s back to life in this modern day wine festival.
MONDAY JULY 4
Downtown Roy on the Boardwalk
Enjoy live music with Downtown Roy on the boardwalk from 4:00-6:00pm, shop the stores, and enjoy downtown restaurants.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Cartecay Vineyards will have live music with Surrender Hill and Greg Erwin and wine tastings.
