Following our sponsor remarks, Speaker of the House David Ralston gave our membership and end of session wrap up. Speaker was proud to share some of the accomplishments from the 2018 legislative session with friends and neighbors at the Gilmer Chamber luncheon. In addition to fully funding education and cutting state income taxes for the first time, the FY 2019 state budget includes strategic investments to help Gilmer County continue thriving. These investments include $1.7 million to make upgrades to the air conditioning and heating systems at Gilmer High School as well as $1.2 million to help the water authority extend a line along Yukon Road and connect with the Pickens water system.
The next Gilmer Chamber luncheon will be held on May 10, 2018.
