All About Apples
There are no finer apples than those grown in Gilmer County. Perhaps it’s the breath of mountain air or the sweet and temperate climate. It might be the music of the waterfalls or the rich and fertile earth. Whatever alchemy comes together to produce heaven in a juicy orb, it is here in Gilmer County. As Georgia’s Apple Capital, we produce more than 600,000 bushels of delectable fruit each year. From late August to early December, you have only to stop in to one of the many roadside stands to taste the flavor of paradise.
